Learning Resource Center

The Learning Resource Center (LRC) offers services free of charge to Cypress College currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff.

Learning Resource Center Services

  • Tutoring Center: tutoring in reading, English, American ESL, foreign languages, and some social sciences. We eagerly assist students enrolled in any course with writing assignments. We are committed to assisting students develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their coursework and in their academic, professional, and personal pursuits.
  • Mathematics/Science Learning Center: experienced tutors and mathematics instructors who can help you with your math, biology, chemistry, and physics classes. Computers, tutorial software, video lectures, and current texts and solution manuals are available.
  • Supplemental Instruction (SI): weekly study group and tutoring sessions for classes that have historically proven to be very challenging. SI study group participants typically earn a half to a full letter grade higher in a class than those who don’t participate.

  • Computers available for Internet and software application use
  • Printers, including color printers
  • Photocopiers for instructional materials
  • Flatbed scanners
  • Photo-editing software
  • Data and power connections, and wireless access provided for those who bring their own laptop computers or pdas

Policies

You will need a student identification card or photo identification and proof of enrollment to use the LRC. Children are not allowed in the Learning Center but are permitted in the Library on the second floor of the LLRC.
