Registered Nursing Program for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN) and Licensed Psychiatric Technicians (PT)
The Nursing program provides an opportunity for LVN’s and Licensed PT’s to complete the Registered Nursing curriculum.
The individual completing the Registered Nursing Program and General Education requirements will receive an Associate Degree in Nursing and is eligible to take the Registered Nursing State Board Licensing Examination as a graduate of the Cypress College Registered Nursing Program.
The Department of Nursing articulates with most universities, accepting lower division work from Cypress College. Many of our graduates continue on to an upper division program of study specifically designed for registered nurses leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
The Nursing program is approved by the California State Board of Registered Nursing and fully accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
If you have been convicted of any offense other than a minor traffic violation, it may prevent your attending clinical rotations where criminal background checks are required. You will be required to declare offenses on your state application to write the licensing exam, which may affect your eligibility to become licensed.
