Hybrid Course 61 Anatomy/Dental Assisting

Hybrid Course Description

Course 61 is taught both in person and online. The educational time is the same amount of time as if you were in a regular course. Classes will not meet every week. A calendar for meetings will be presented the first day of class which is a required meeting. Meetings that are scheduled will meet on the same day and time according to the posted schedule/calendar. You will need access to a computer and the internet in order to take this course. COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course prepares the student with the basic dental sciences in order to relate and demonstrate dental chairside procedures. Content includes dental anatomy and physiology, oral embryology and oral histology, tooth morphology, and oral pathology related to sterilization, pharmacology, and pain control.

Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Dental Assistant Program.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: Bring all materials on your materials list and all textbooks to every class meeting. Textbooks can be purchase at the campus book store or at a store of your choosing.

  2. Anatomy of Orofacical Structures, Isselhard, 7th Ed.

  3. All personal student materials to succeed in class.
