Chinese 100
This course is for students at beginning levels who would like to have exposure to Chinese without having to learn Chinese characters. It is an introduction to spoken Chinese with emphasis on pronunciation, oral practice, vocabulary development, and use of common expressions for daily conversations in a culturally appropriate way.
Chinese 101
This is a beginning Chinese course intended for students without any previous exposure to the language. It begins to develop language competencies in pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading, and writing so as to enable students to function on a basic level in culturally appropriate ways. Students will increase their knowledge of the culture and history of China.Chinese 101
Chinese 102
This is the second beginning Chinese course that continues to emphasize the acquisition of basic skills in pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar as well as vocabulary necessary to acquire these skills. Students are introduced to the culture and history of China.
