CIS 217 - Visual Basic Programming

Courese Description: This course introduces students to the Visual Basic .NET programming language. Studnets will learn how to design, code, and debug programs common to the business enviroment.

Textbook:  Programming in Visual Basic 2008 by Julia Case Bradley and Anita C. Millspaugh. McGraw Hill ISBN 978-0-07-351720-9

Students will be required to complete two hours a week of laboratory time.

Students should complete CIS 211 Introduction to Programming or have other programming experience to be successfully in this class.   



Operating System Required: Windows XP or later

Hardware Required:  Intel Pentium 4 Processor or faster, 512 MB (1 gig recommended) of RAM, 3 GBs of free disk space

Software Required:  Microsft Visual Basic Express 2008 or 2010 edition.  Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or 2010 edition.  Students may also use the Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 or 2010 edition.
