I have been teaching biology at Cypress College since 1998. My main areas of interest are marine biology (specifically the biology and physiology of dinoflagellates) and molecular genetics.
I teach the following courses for majors: Cell and Molecular Biology (Biol 174 C), Genetics (Biol 277 C), and Molecular Biology (Biol 278 C). I also teach Marine Biology (Biol 122 C) on occasion.
This is an exciting time to consider a major and career in biology. New discoveries in genetics are changing the way we think about how life works. Also, there is incredible growth in opportunities for cross-discipline work. Biology is now informing areas such as engineering and physics while being informed by these fields as well.
I hope to see you soon in one of my classes.
