Biography
Welcome!
It is my pleasure to have you join our program. One thing I have learned since joining Cypress College in the fall of 2000 is that students who enroll in our Airline & Travel Careers and Aviation Programs have something in common: a sense of adventure.
Most of you enrolled because you have a desire to get out and see the world for yourself. For that same reason, I left my position as a psychiatric technician to become a flight attendant many years ago. I was able to maintain my flight attendant active status throughout my twenty years of airline management where I eventually became the Director of Customer Services Training for a major airline with a training staff of 115 responsible for training 25,000 employees annually. I left my management position and went back to being a flight attendant so I could spend more time with my children. At the same time, I went back to school and earned a master's degree in Literature and Writing Studies. I taught English part-time at Palomar College and CSU San Marcos. But when I heard about the Airline & Travel Careers Program at Cypress College, I welcomed the opportunity to combine my enthusiasm for flying, traveling, and teaching.
You'll find that, like me, all of the instructors in our program have worked in their fields of expertise and they share your sense of adventure. We look forward to helping you go places!
