Biography
Teaching community college students is my vocation. I enjoy coaching and encouraging students to become independent learners and interacting with them. Thirty years ago, I was thrilled to become part of the Cypress College community and remain as committed to students now as I was then.
As the Title V Grant Project Manager, I work with members of the Cypress College community - faculty, staff, and administrators - to develop and implement new activities whose purpose is to improve student learning and success for Basic Skills students during the first two years of the grant and then address the needs of all students in the last three years.
The activities of the Title V Grant include College Success Factors Index counseling for first-time college students, development of the English Success Center, enhancement of the Math Learning Center, support of the Student Learning Outcomes Assessment activity, professional development for faculty and staff, and development of the Reading and Writing Across the Curriculum and Math Across the Disciplines programs.
