Biography


My background as a independent photojournalist and a multimedia producer for 20 years, as well as a newspaper editor, gives me a special perspective on the innovative news gathering, and business and distribution models that journalism must develop--and you must learn to create in the future..

We also teach international journalism.  I was a Fulbright Scholar in Ukraine 2007-2008. I also taiught "backpack journalism" to 27 Cypress and Fullerton students in Prague in 2005. And I taught CSUF study abroad in Japan summer 2004.

I teach journalism innovation!  Don't just learn the rules of traditional media; learn to write the rules of new media.

JOUR 101 C Reporting and Writing

Eighty percent of journalism is images, sound and presentation. However, the abiltiy to organize a story in print, scripts or as images and sound requires the organizational skills that comes with writing. Learn this, the rest of journalism is just detail.
