Our office currently administers state and federal grants, loans, and work-study. The most common types of financial aid that Cypress College students are eligible to receive include:
Pell Grants — Federally funded grants for eligible undergraduate students.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG) — Federally funded grants for eligible undergraduate students.
Cal Grants — State-funded award for eligible students from disadvantaged backgrounds or low-income families who have exceptionally high financial need, to provide them assistance with enrollment fees, living expenses, books, supplies, and transportation.
Full-Time Student Success Grant:
The Full-Time Student Success Grant is a new financial aid program for Cal Grant B recipients attending a California community college full time. On top of the $1,656 annual Cal Grant B award paid at community colleges, the Full-Time Student Success Grant pays full-time Cal Grant B recipients an additional $600 annually. All full-time community college students receiving Cal Grant B will be offered this assistance, and only full-time students can receive this benefit. Full-time attendance is 12 units per semester.
Board of Governors (BOG) Enrollment Fee Waivers — State-funded waivers of enrollment fees for eligible students.
Federal Work-Study (FWS) funds — Federally funded program that provides wages to eligible students for both on-campus and off-campus employment.
Loans (subsidized and unsubsidized) — Federally administered, low-interest loans to eligible students.
