Cypress Highlights: Etheridge proved to be the go-to reliever for the Chargers and then went on to prove himself as a starter late in the season. Etheridge led the bullpen in appearances with 30 while notching eight saves, good enough for second in the Charger all-time single season record books. He finished his Cypress career with ten saves which is second on the all-time career Charger record books. He posted the second best record on the team going 8-1 which included two starts and one complete game win in the Super Regionals against Santa Ana. Etheridge finished the season with a 2.65 ERA in 78 innings of work with 66 strikeouts holding batters to a .201 average. His efforts earned him First Team all-Orange Empire Conference, All-American honors, and was inducted into the Cypress Hall of Fame. He is headed to University of California Irvine to continue playing baseball after Cypress.
Etheridge appeared in 18 games for the Chargers his freshman year going 2-3 with 2 saves and a 4.32 ERA.
Moved on to UCI where Etheridge was the starting pitcher in UCI's first ever College World Series win. Etheridge was drafted in 2007 in the 12th round to the Milwaukee Brewers.

High School Highlights: Pitcher of the year in the Sunset League earning first-team all-CIF recognition and second team all-County honors.

Notes: Most memorable sports moment was beating Valley View High for the CIF championship in extra innings.
