Harris is best known for being the only major league pitcher in the modern era to pitch with both the right and left arms in a game. Harris spent fifteen years in the majors starting his career with the New York Mets and ending it with the Montreal Expos. He finished his career with a 74-90 record. Harris then moved on to coaching opening a pitching school in Los Alamitos and coaching in local Connie Mack and Mickey Mantle leagues. He also spent time as a pitching coach at Cal State LA in 2000 and Concordia in 2003.
