March 7, 2006

Final Stats

Huntington Beach, Calif. - Charger bats could not be stopped again as they get their second 14 run game in a row to defeat Golden West 14-6. Cypress is now 3-0 and holding first place in the Orange Empire Conference. Freshman Brandon Laird went 2 for 4 against Rustler pitchers including a solo homerun and a double. Golden West took the lead early with a run in the first but Cypress was unfazed as they came right back with 2 runs in the second as freshman catcher Brandon Ruddy doubled to sophomores Blaine Wilson and Mike Vass. The Rustlers came back to tie it in the third with a run at 2-2. The Chargers added 2 in the fourth as Ruddy got his third RBI batting in third baseman Joel Weeks. Leadoff hitter Garrett Young then singled to score Ruddy.
