Cypress Named as The State’s Top Scholar-Athlete Team

Cypress, Calif. - Cypress College’s 2007 Baseball team was named the California Community College’s top scholar team for the 2006-07 season. This is the second year in a row that the Chargers have been chosen for this award. “This is a special award as it emphasizes academic achievement of all the members of one specific team. This is an honor that should be the objective of all our sports teams and one for which you should be extremely proud,” says the congratulatory letter from COA Executive Director Carlyle Carter.
The 2007 Charger squad moved seven players on to four-year universities while two were drafted to professional clubs.
