Pickler Named University of Arizona Assistant

Cypress, Calif. - Jeff Pickler, a former Cypress Charger, has been named the newest assistant coach at the University of Arizona. Pickler, an All-American at the University of Tennessee, played at Cypress in 1995 for his father, head coach Scott Pickler. He takes over for former UA assistant coach Jeff Casper.

After Cypress, Pickler earned All-American and Southeastern Conference Player of the Year awards at University of Tennessee. He was then selected in the 11th round of the 1998 draft by the Brewers winning a Triple-A World Series Championship. He also spent time with the Rangers and the Rockies. He has spent the last couple years working with the Arizona Diamondbacks as an Advance Scout and Staff Consultant. Pickler still holds the Cypress College record for triples in a season (6).
