Four Charger Baseball Players Sign Early Letters of Intent

Cypress, Calif. - A talented Cypress College baseball squad is looking forward to another successful year after finishing their 2008 season in the California Super Regionals. This year’s team is bolstered by four sophomores who have already signed early letters of intent: Jonathan Hurst to University of California Irvine, Colby Hyatt to University of North Carolina Greensboro, Rick Eisenberg to University of Oklahoma, and Parker Berberet to Oregon State.
Catcher Jonathan Hurst (El Modena High School) will be staying close to home at UCI. Hurst led the team in RBI (48) and doubles (19). Pitcher Colby Hyatt is off to University of North Caronlina Greensboro to play for the Spartans. Hyatt finished 2008 with a 4-2 record a 3.28 ERA. Center fielder Rick Eisenberg (Los Alamitos High School) will suit up for the Sooners in 2010. Eisenberg played for Cypress in 2007 batting .296 in 27 at bats. Catcher Parker Berberet (Esperanza High School) will be headed to Oregon State to play in the PAC-10. Berberet finished 2008 with a .357 average including five homeruns.
The Chargers begin their 2008 season at home Tuesday January 27th against Palomar at 2:00 pm.
