Aanderud and Boney Sign Letters of Intent

Aanderud is transferring to Liberty to play for the Flames next year.

Cypress, Calif. - Joey Boney and Bryan Aanderud are the first two Cypress College baseball players from this year's class to sign letters of intent to play at four-year universities next year.

Aanderud is planning to transfer to Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., while Joey Boney will remain on the West Coast and transfer to Loyola Marymount University.

Cypress College currently has 25 former baseball players who have transferred to play at four-year universities - more than any other school in the Orange Empire Conference.

Aanderud has started all 32 games for Cypress this season, and currently leads the Chargers in doubles with nine, second in total bases (54), tied for second in hits (42), third in runs scored and RBI with 23 in each category, and eighth in batting with a .328 average.

In the Chargers second game of the year on February 4, Aanderud had four RBI and scored a run in Cypress' 9-5 win over Palomar College.

Boney will be playing for the Lions next season.

Joey Boney has started 31 games for Cypress this year, and ranks first on the team in runs scored (30), hits (45), and stolen bases with 10. Boney also ranks second in walks (14), tied for third in total bases (53), fourth in batting average (.345) and on-base-percentage (.416), and fifth on the team with 20 RBI.

In an Orange Empire Conference game against Golden West College on April 1, Boney had an RBI and scored five runs for the Chargers in a 16-6 victory over the Rustlers at home.
