Cypress Highlights: Started as the Charger first baseman before stepping up as a key pitcher for Cypress… pitched a complete game two-hitter shutout in the semi-finals of the 2007 playoffs propelling Cypress into the State Championship final game… finished with a .288 batting average with five homeruns and 22 RBI… ended the season with a 3-5 record from the mound with a 4.56 ERA and 27 strikeouts.
High School Highlights: Smith finished with Villa Park in 2005 leading the Century League in homeruns with six. As an infielder, Smith was named to the All Southern California First Team by Baseball Resource, First Team all-Century League, Century League Utility Player of the Year, and all-CIF.
