Cypress Highlights: Finished the 2008 season with a 5-4 record in 14 appearances… collected 24 strikeouts with a 6.07 ERA… struck out five batters in five innings allowing just one earned run against Porterville on February 7th.
High School Highlights: A two-year varsity letter winner with the Aztecs… started strong with Rookie of the Year for Esperanza as a Junior… went 10-1 as a junior on the way to First Team all-Sunset League honors his sophomore year and led the team to the CIF quarterfinals… finished his senior season with a 6-1 record with 37 strikeouts and a 3.076 ERA earning Second Team all-Sunset League before reaching the CIF semi-finals… wrung up eight strikeouts in five innings pitched on the way to a win against Newport Harbor.
Personal: Born on December 11th, 1988… parents are Cindi and Gus Bruner… brother is Cory… majoring in business… chose to play at Cypress because it is a “good baseball program with a strong tradition.”
