Online BIOL 102 Human Biology

  • BIOL 102, Human Biology is a 3-unit course. Three hours of lecture per week for standard on-campus class. Pass/No Pass/Letter Grade Option

The online class is instructor paced with weekly assignments and quizzes presented in the virtual classroom called Blackboard. There is no lab. There are only four mandatory on-campus meetings (see dates below) during the semester.

The course is a study of modern biological concepts presented in a human context. The concepts will include human evolution, anatomy, physiology, genetics, population biology, and ecological principles. Included in the course will be discussion on current topics on environmental and public health issues as they relate to the human condition. (Not open to students with credit in BIOL 101 C or BIOL 101 HC.)

Online BIOL 160 Integrated Medical Science

This is a one-semester course that includes a systematic coverage of fundamental physical/chemical principles, basic biological concepts, and the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology. The course is designed for various allied health programs (psychiatric technician, mortuary science, court reporting, etc.) or others who desire a background in human biology.

Hybrid BIOL 231 General Human Anatomy

  • BIOL 231 General Human Anatomy is a 4-unit course. There are three hours of lecture and three hours of lab per week for the standard on-campus class.

The hybrid class is instructor paced presented in the virtual classroom called Blackboard with weekly assignments, online quizzes, video tutorials, lecture recordings, and interactive exercises. The hybrid class has two 65 minute on-campus lectures and one three hour on-campus lab per week. See lecture times and dates below.

This course includes a logical analysis of body tissues, organs, and systems. It stresses the microscopic, developmental, and gross anatomy of mammals, with special emphasis on human anatomy.
Note: For students planning to take BIOL 241, don’t even think about taking BIOL 241 without successfully completing a college chemistry course like CHEM 101 with at least a C. If you want a the best possible grade in BIOL 241, take College Chemistry first!

Hybrid BIOL 241 General Human Physiology

  • BIOL 241 General Human Physiology is a 4-unit course. There are three hours of lecture and three hours of lab per week for the standard on-campus class.

  • Prerequisite: BIOL 230 C or BIOL 231 C or BIOL 210 C
  • Corequisite: None

The hybrid class is instructor paced presented in the virtual classroom called Blackboard with weekly assignments, online quizzes, video tutorials, lecture recordings, and interactive exercises. The hybrid class has two 70 minute lectures and one three hour lab per week. See lecture times and dates below.

Recommendation/Advisory: High School Biology and Chemistry. Don’t even think about taking 241 without these! The instructor also recommends College Chemistry (CHEM 101). If you want the best possible grade in BIOL 241, take College Chemistry first.

BIOL 241 is an in-depth study of human function. Special attention is given to the abnormal as well as the normal functional state.
