El Cajon, Calif. – The Chargers were recovering from a narrow one point loss the day before only to suffer the same fate Sunday in the third place game at the Grossmont Tournament. Cypress came back from a half-time deficit but came up just short in a 62-63 loss to L.A. Southwest. Freshman center Rodrigo Carbajal paced Cypress with 13 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals.

Freshman guard Clinton Williams turned in his seventh straight double-digit game with a team high 14 points and 6 rebounds. Freshman guard Ted Wolf scored from the outside with 12 points from four three-pointers.

Cypress finished in fourth place in the Grossmont Tournament and falls to 2-8. Cypress heads back for a few days off before jumping back into tournament action at the Santa Barbara Tournament. Cypress starts the action with Allan Hancock College. Allan Hancock is 3-8 this season coming off of a 68-86 loss to Hartnell. The teams meet up at 5:00 pm at Santa Barbara on Thursday.
