Chargers Fall in Last Game of the Season

Mission Viejo, Calif. – The Chargers headed into their last game of the 2006-07 season Friday on the road at Saddleback. Cypress took a brief lead but lost their footing losing to the Gauchos 68-58. Sophomore forward Jeff Comminey closed out his Cypress career with a 20 point, 7 rebound performance.
The Chargers started with the lead and held on for most of the first half. The Gauchos took control at the 8:19 mark in the first half on a nine point run. Saddleback continued their momentum to reach a thirteen point lead to end the first half. The Gauchos continued their scoring jumping out to as much as a twenty-one point lead in the second half. Cypress would go on an 11-0 run to end the game but it was not enough losing to the Gauchos by ten.
Freshman guard Clinton Williams was the only other Charger in double digits with 10 points to go along with 8 rebounds. Freshman guard Eric Butler added a game high 7 assists along with 8 points and 6 rebounds. Khalif Boyd and Garrett Reza combined for 16 points.
The Chargers finish conference 0-12 in last place in conference and 6-24 overall.
