Cypress, Calif. – Cypress had a lot on their plate Wednesday night facing the number one ranked Lasers of Irvine Valley at home. The Chargers fell behind and never caught up losing to IVC 84-57. Sophomore guard
Khalif Boyd led the Chargers with 13 points.
Cypress struggled from the beginning slowly falling behind the Lasers in the first half 40-27. The Chargers fell short especially from the line in the first half going 2 for 11 from the stripe. Cypress also came up empty from the other line going just 2 for 14 from three-point range. The second half went downhill for Cypress as they fell behind as much as 31 with just four minutes remaining until eventually losing by 27.

Ryan Nitta was the only other Charger to score in double-digits following his career high ten points from last Friday with an equal performance tonight with another ten. Freshman forward

Justin Nguyen combined to score 15 on the night.
The Chargers fall to 11-12 and 2-2 in conference. They will have a night off before hosting cross-town rivals Fullerton. The second place Hornets are 17-5 and 4-1 in conference coming off of a 101-68 win over Santa Ana. The two will meet up Friday at 7:30 pm at Cypress.
