Chargers Trail the Whole Way in Loss to Pasadena

Pasadena, Calif. – Cypress played the first game of a crossover Wednesday night taking on the Lancers of Pasadena. The Chargers had just one lead three minutes into the game before letting Pasadena run loose in the 104-73 loss. Sophomore forward Sean Starkey quietly led Cypress with 19 points including five field goals.

Pasadena took charge in the first half taking advantage of points in the paint for the 50-38 lead. The Lancers extended the lead in the second half taking advantage of Cypress’s turnovers to break the century mark for the 31 point win. Cypress gave up the ball 21 times due to turnovers as opposed to Pasadena’s 11.

Freshman center Baron McCray followed Starkey with 11 points going four-for-four from the field. Sophomore forward Devon McDonald picked up nine points and eight rebounds.

Cypress falls to 1-2 and has a day off before taking on Chaffey in the second half of the crossover. Chaffey is coming off of a 92-75 win over Santa Ana. The teams face off Friday at 5:30 pm at Santa Ana.
