Chargers Show Control in Win over Harbor

Wilmington, Calif. – Cypress headed to LA Harbor Wednesday night for a rare non-tournament game. The Chargers showed steady scoring and came out on top with an 82-65 win. Sophomore forward Devon McDonald led the Chargers with 17 points and 16 rebounds shooting 50% from the floor.
McDonald’s points were bolstered by another 17 points from freshman guard Tim Austin who went 5 for 9 from the floor. Austin also grabbed eight rebounds and four assists. Sophomore guard DuWayne King added 15 points and four assists while freshman forward Brandon McDonald pitched in 12 points.
Cypress improves to .500 at 7-7. They have a day off before heading to the Egg Nog Classic at LA City College. The Chargers will start the action against LA Pierce. Pierce is 2-6 and coming off of a four point loss to Saddleback. The two meet up in the first round of the tournament at 2:00 pm Friday at LA City.
