Cypress, Calif. – Cypress hosted their final home game of the season Wednesday night hoping for a season sweep of Irvine Valley. The Chargers were their own worst enemies committing 32 fouls in the 88-78 loss. Freshman guard
Rufus Jemison came off the bench to make a big impact scoring 15 points in just 13 minutes on the floor before fouling out. Jemison was one of four Chargers to foul out of the game.
The teams battled through eleven lead changes in just the first half before IVC took the lead for good with an eight point run starting at the 2:34 mark in the first half. IVC finished the first half with the 38-33 lead. The Lasers stretched their lead in the second half as Cypress struggled to keep up. The Chargers were able to come as close as six with under a minute remaining but IVC kept their distance for the eventual ten point win.

Tim Austin led Cypress in scoring with 18. Sophomore guard
DuWayne King put together a well rounded performance with 16 points and seven assists. Sophomore forward
John Staats added ten points and five rebounds.
Cypress falls to 14-17 and 4-7 in conference. They have a night off before playing their final game of the season at Fullerton. Cypress lost to the Hornets 104-90 the first time around. Cypress finishes their season Friday at 5:30 at Fullerton.
