Chargers Finish Fifth in OEC Tee Off Classic

Chino Hills, Calif. - Cypress teed off their 2010 season Monday with the Orange Empire Conference Tee Off Classic at Los Serranos. Play started Monday with the first round and concluded Wednesday with the second round. Cypress ended the Classic in fifth with a team score of 784.
The Chargers were 29 strokes behind tournament winner Glendale with 755. Freshman Nick Garrett led Cypress with a 152 over the tournament including a one under par performance on the second day on the South course. Sophomore Scott Sexton followed with a 154 over the tournament.
Cypress falls from their third place finish in 2009. The Chargers have a week off before their first home match next Wednesday at the Navy Golf Course at 10:00 am. Cypress will be hosting Saddleback and Cuyamaca who finished 4th and 8th respectively.
