Cypress Sweeps at Home Again

Cypress, Calif. - The Chargers hosted their final home match Monday hosting Santiago Canyon, Santa Ana, and Palomar. After sweeping their first two home matches, Cypress closed it out with another sweep defeating all three teams with a team score of 371. This included a win over Palomar who defeated Cypress earlier this year. Freshman Caio Barbosa led Cypress as the medalist with a two-under-par 70 on the day.
Cypress started strong in the first group as sophomore Jin Kim came in one-under-par. Freshman Nick Garrett also turned in a strong performance at par as Cypress edged out Santiago Canyon by six strokes, the next closest opponent.
The Chargers (11-3) have just one match left before the OEC tournament. Cypress will head to Orange Coast to take on the Pirates. Cypress defeated the Pirates by ten strokes earlier this season at home. They will face off again at Santa Ana Golf Course at 8:30 am Wednesday.
