Kephart came to Cypress in 2009 turning around the program and notching the most wins since 2006 and the first playoff appearance in program history. Before Cypress, he earned a state championship while with the Hawks' women's program and was concurrently coaching at Troy High School as the Girl’s Head Coach. At Troy, Kephart earned a CIF championship in 2009 and was named the CIF Division III and Orange County Coach of the year. He also works with the Cal South Olympic Development Program winning national championships in 2006, 2008, and 2009.
A graduate of Cal State Long Beach, Kephart earned a bachelor’s degree in health education before earning a master’s in exercise science. Kephart lives in Riverside with his wife Jennifer and son Nate.
