Fandrich Competed in Three Events at the State Championship

Walnut, Calif. - The top Community College swimmers in the state convened over the weekend to take part in the swim and dive State Championships at Mt. Sac. Sophomore swimmer Sam Fandrich competed for the Chargers in three events highlighted by a fifth place finish in the 500 yard freestyle swim.
Fandrich qualified seventh in the 500 yard freestyle in the prelims and shaved over a second off finishing with a time of 4:44.67 to place fifth in the state in the event. Fandrich also competed in the 200 yard freestyle where he placed first in the B final and ninth overall with a time of 1:44.04. He finished the competition in the 1650 yard freestyle where he placed 12th in a time of 16:59.67.
This was Fandriche’s second appearance at the State Championship where he improved his placement five in the 500 yard, two in the 200 yard, and slipped one place in the 1650 yard competition.
