IMPORTANT SPRING 2012 FINANCIAL AID STEPS TO SUCCESS
With registration underway for Spring 2012 and final exams beginning, the Financial Aid Office wants to wish you a happy holiday season and successful final exams period. If you received a Board of Governor's Fee Waiver (BOGW) during the Fall 2011 semester, your waiver will also be available for Spring 2012. All fees must be paid at the time of registration. Carefully review your status at the time of registration to make sure BOGW was applied and that any remaining fees are paid in full.
As you plan for Spring 2012, please review the 3 Steps to Spring financial aid success below:
STEP 1: YOUR ACADEMIC SUCCESS MATTERS!
If you receive financial aid, you are expected to meet minimum standards of satisfactory academic progress. Do you know the rules you agreed to when you completed your file and signed all your paperwork? Please take a moment to review the link below so you can avoid financial aid warning/disqualification along with delays, frustration, and increased stress.
STEP 2: REVIEW YOUR GRADES/STATUS IN MYGATEWAY IN EARLY JANUARY
Check your Fall 2011 grades in early January 2012. It is important to login to myGateway before the start of Spring 2012 classes and review your grades and financial aid status. Students who do not make satisfactory academic progress may be placed on financial aid warning or disqualification. We communicate your financial aid status for Spring 2012 to you via myGateway around January 13, 2012. Students placed on financial aid warning are not required to submit a petition, however they must improve their academic record during Spring 2012 to avoid disqualification. Students placed on financial aid disqualification must submit a petition in order to be eligible for reinstatement. Disqualified students may experience delays and potential frustration. It is important that all students carefully review the information contained above in the link provided in Step 1 for additional information about warning and disqualification so you can be informed and maintain your financial aid eligibility.
STEP 3: WHEN WILL YOU GET YOUR MONEY FOR SPRING 2012?
If you received a disbursement on your North Orange Card in Fall 2011, you can use the link below to plan for your Spring 2012 disbursement. Keep in mind that students who have enrolled in units, have no holds, and who are making satisfactory academic progress receive aid.
