The Vietnamese Community of Southern California and Cypress College present a collaborative series of events around the theme of "Understanding the Black April 30th, 1975 and the Vietnamese Community in America."

An exhibit of artwork and photography depicting Vietnamese-American history, culture and diasporas refugee) experience is currently on display in the Cypress College Theater. It will remain through May 1, 2009.

Two forums will be held on the campus as well. The first takes place on Wednesday, April 29 and the second on Thursday, April 30. Both will be held in the college's Humanities Building lecture hall, room H-131, from 2:30-5 p.m.

Individual speakers and their topics are listed in the accompanying PDF files [April 29, 2009 | April 30, 2009].

Each forum will also be followed by the screening of a movie in the same room at 5:15 p.m. On Wednesday the film is "Soldiers in our Eyes" and on Thursday, "Journey from the Fall" will be shown.

The events at Cypress College are one component of the myriad activities of the Black April Commemoration Committee of the Vietnamese American Community in Southern California.
