Timely Warning: Man in Pickup Propositioned Student Walking to Campus

A female student reported that a man driving down Orange St. near the Cypress College track asked her to expose herself to him for money while she was walking down the sidewalk towards campus around 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. The man pulled alongside the curb next to her and spoke to her through the passenger-side window.

The student described the suspect as a male in his 40s with balding, blonde hair and wearing a dark blue polo shirt. He was driving a black pick-up truck with an identifying red “TS” on the rear passenger side of the vehicle near the tire.

The student immediately reported the incident to Cypress College Campus Safety, as well as to the Cypress Police Department.

Campus Safety and Cypress Police are continuing their investigation. Anyone with information about the incident or about the suspect should contact Campus Safety at (714) 484-7387. Imminent threats should be reported to 911.

Students and employees are reminded to report incidents or suspicious behavior to Campus Safety and/or Cypress Police immediately. Additionally, students are reminded that Campus Safety can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (714) 484-7387, and that it is important to program that number into their mobile phones for quick access.
