Timely Warning: SCE Student at Cypress College Touched Inappropriately

A female student of the North Orange County Community College District School of Continuing Education (SCE), located at Cypress College, reported that a male suspect touched her inappropriately.

The student immediately reported the incident to SCE and Cypress College Campus Safety as well as to the Cypress Police Department. She reported that the incident took place at the tables just east of the Technical Education III building at about 11 a.m. today. She reported that she was among a group of students who were discussing food when the conversation became sexually charged. Over the course of the conversation, the suspect grabbed the victim inappropriately on the buttocks three different times, even after the victim asked him to stop. The victim then hit him with a water bottle and walked away, immediately reporting the incident.

The suspect was described as an African American male, in his 20s, 5′ 7″, short hair.

This incident is now under the investigation of the Cypress Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call (714) 229-6631. While this is believed to be an isolated incident, anyone who believes they are a victim of a similar incident should immediately contact Campus Safety or the Cypress Police Department.

Students and employees are reminded to report incidents or suspicious behavior to Campus Safety or Cypress Police immediately.
