Admissions and Program Eligibility

International Admissions -- New F-1 Visa Students from Outside the US

The following items and documents must be submitted:
  • International Student Application for Admission (International Students cannot use the regular online CCCApply Application).
  • Official proof of completion of secondary education (high school):  diploma or transcript translated into English.
  • Official diploma and/or transcript in English from any colleges/universities attended,
  • Original bank certification on a bank letterhead showing a balance of at least $18,000 in US dollars with a bank official signature/seal.  At the time of application, the bank certification must be less than 6 months old.
  • English Proficiency must be demonstrated by fulfilling one of the following assessments:
    1. TOEFL (www.toefl.org) -- minimum of 61 (iBT) or 500 (PBT).  Cypress College school code is 4104.
    2. IELTS (www.ielts.org)-- minimum score of Band 5.
    3. iTEP (International Test of English Proficiency):  minimum score of Level 5.  More information can be found at www.bostoneducational.com
    4. STEP (Society for Testing English Proficiency) -- minimum of Pre-First Grade Level. More information can be found at http://stepeiken.org/
  • $40 non-refundable application processing fee in US dollars payable to Cypress College.  We accept US checks and money orders.

International Admissions -- Transfer F-1 Visa Students from Other US Institutions

Submit ALL the above, plus the following items:

  • Submit copies of valid I-20, passport and F-1 Visa pages and I-94.
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and/or universities attended in the United States.
  • Submit a Transfer Eligibility Form.
  • In lieu of the TOEFL, students already in the United States may take the CELSA, the ESL placement test at Cypress College to meet the English proficiency requirements.

Part-time Admissions for F-1 Visa Students from other US Institutions
