Deborah Michelle, B.A., M.S.

Deborah has been a DSS counselor since 1999. Prior to coming to Cypress College, she was a counselor for the Department of Rehabilitation. Deborah has also been a sign language interpreter, job coach, vocational counselor for Veterans of the Gulf War, and graduate assistant. Deborah first learned sign language in 1987 in college and continues to sign today.

Deborah attended San Diego State University from 1984-1991. There she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Area of Emphasis: Deaf & Hard of Hearing. Deborah is a proud Lifetime Member of the SDSU Alumni Association.

For fun, Deborah cheers on the Dodgers, swims, reads, colors, and plays with her two dogs, Venti, a Great Dane, and Violet, a Great Pyrenees mix. Deborah’s office is a reflection of her character, filled with color and humor.

COUN 100 C College Orientation (1 unit)
This course is designed for students with disabilities. You will learn campus policies and procedures, study skills, and create a Student Educational Plan (SEP).

COUN 140 C Educational Planning (1/2 unit)
Orientation to college life and responsibilities; development of an educational plan. Excellent class for new students!
