Chargers Tie with Rival Santiago Canyon

Orange, Calif. – Cypress was still shorthanded as they headed to rival Santiago Canyon for their toughest match up of their season thus far. Cypress fought to score the first goal but allowed a Hawks goal right after and finished in a tie. Freshman keeper Kassandra Imbrogno held the tie with a season high seven saves on the day.
Cypress was in for a challenge facing the unbeaten Hawks ranked second in the nation. The Chargers had a several great opportunities in the first half including a header off the post but were unable to convert finishing the first half in a 0-0 tie. In the second, Cypress was able to take the lead when freshman defender Kristen Mosier scored off of a header from a free kick from sophomore defender Denise Oates. Santiago came right back with a goal of their own for the 1-1 tie. Both defenses held the score at one a piece handing the Hawks their first tie of the season, and the Chargers their second in a row.
Cypress has some time to rest and have a break in their conference schedule facing off with Chaffey College next. Chaffey is 0-7-2 overall coming off of a 0-0 tie with Antelope Valley. The teams will face off Tuesday afternoon at Cypress at 3:00 pm.
