Another Shutout Win for the Chargers

Huntington Beach, Calif. – The Chargers are continuing to make a statement in the second round of OEC play with a shutout 4-0 win over Golden West. Cypress’s win streak increases to three in an attempt to pick up momentum through the end of conference. Freshman defender Kristen Mosier picked up two goals on the way to the victory.
The Chargers continued their scoring streak against Golden West after a six goal shutout last week against Fullerton. Mosier scored her fourth and fifth goals this season against the Rustlers. Freshman midfielder Dani Castro added one for her sixth collegiate goal. Yvonne Vasquez is back on track with her ninth of the season. Brittney Elder dished out two assists while Nydia Hurtado and Denise Oates both had an assist a piece. Freshman keeper Kassandra Imbrogno picked up another shutout with one save.
Cypress hosts Santa Ana next. The last time these teams met, Cypress won 4-0. Santa Ana is coming off of a 0-2 loss to Orange Coast and is currently in fourth place in conference. The teams will face off again Friday at 3:00 pm at Cypress.
