Chargers Collect Shut-Out Win

Saratoga, Calif. – The Chargers remained on the road Sunday heading to Saratoga to face winless West Valley. Cypress grabbed the lead early and held on to earn the shutout win 2-0. Freshman midfielder Megan Boland scored her first collegiate goal to pace Cypress.

Boland scored in the first half with an assist from sophomore midfielder Nydia Hurtado, her first assist this season. Freshman midfielder Jessica McMaster added the second with an assist from freshman forward Natalie Farah. Neither team could generate a goal in the second half holding the score at 2-0 in Cypress’s favor.

The Chargers return to local action next as they prepare to open up Orange Empire Conference play against Golden West. Golden West is 0-4 thus far this season. The two meet up Tuesday at Golden West at 6:00 pm.
