Chargers Take Down the Pirates

Costa Mesa, Calif. – Cypress went on the road Friday for their seventh conference match facing the Pirates of Orange Coast. Cypress had some scares early but took the lead and never looked back for the 4-1 victory. Freshman midfielder Jessica McMaster scored twice to lead the Chargers.
Orange Coast was not intimidated attacking the Charger goal early but could not convert. McMaster scored twice in the first half and then freshmen Natalie Farah and Samantha Jones added the other two in the second half. Jones and Farah also had an assist each as did freshman forward Catrina Flores. Cypress allowed one Pirate goal in the 76th minute. Sophomore keeper Kassandra Imbrogno made five saves on the day.
Cypress improves to 9-1-3 and 5-1-1 in conference. They move on to their next conference foe on Tuesday against Fullerton. Fullerton is 3-6-2 and 3-2-2 in conference. The teams will meet up in Tuesday at Cypress at 3:00 pm.
