Cypress Blanked at Santiago Canyon

Orange, Calif. – After a postponement because of air quality from the fires, Cypress traveled to Santiago Canyon for a much anticipated rematch with the undefeated Hawks. The Chargers put up a good effort but were unable to put up a goal in their second shutout of the year losing 1-0. Sophomore goalie Kassandra Imbrogno notched two saves on the day.

Cypress was down early allowing the Hawks to score in the tenth minute. Cypress had eighty minutes to catch up but every shot came up blank as Cypress was shut out for the second time by top ranked Santiago Canyon.

Cypress falls to 13-2-3, and 9-2-1 in conference. The Chargers have no time to recover moving on to Tuesday’s match-up against Irvine Valley. The last time they met, Cypress defeated IVC 3-0. This time they meet at Cypress on Tuesday at 3:00 pm.
