Cypress Inches by L.A. Pierce in First Round of Action

Woodland Hills, Calif. – Cypress traveled to L.A. Pierce for the first round of playoffs to face the sixth seeded Brahmas in a do-or-die game. The Chargers allowed an opposing goal but produced two of their own to earn the 2-1 win and a berth into the next round. Freshman forward Natalie Farah scored a goal to pace the Chargers. Farah’s goal was assisted by freshman midfielder Jessica McMaster. Cypress’s other goal was scored by freshman defender Samantha Jones. Sophomore keeper Kassandra Imbrogno finished the day with four saves while allowing one goal.
Cypress improves to 17-2-3 and moves on to the second round of playoffs to face the third seeded Olympians of San Diego Mesa. Mesa is 18-1-2 and earned their way into the second round via a 3-1 win over Pasadena. The two will face off at San Diego Mesa on Tuesday at 2:00 pm to determine who will move on to the third round and whose season will end.
