Even Scoring Leads Cypress to another Shutout Win

Saratoga, Calif. – Cypress closed their weekend at West Valley to take on the Vikings Sunday. The Chargers scored early and then piled them on in the second for a 4-0 shutout win. Freshman forward Juliane Adams led Cypress with two assists on the day.

The Chargers started the scoring in the first with a goal from freshman midfielder Amanda LoBello with an assist from Adams. Sophomore midfielder Diana Gallegos then finished the first half with a goal with another assist from Adams. The second half started with another Charger goal as sophomore defender Samantha Jones scored in the 50th minute with an assist from freshman forward Ariana Olague. Freshman midfielder Casey Kiehl closed out the scoring with a solo goal in the 64th minute. Freshman keeper Whitney Joslin played the first 60 minutes making one save. Freshman goalie Starr Gonzales made her debut for Cypress playing the last 30 minutes.

Cypress improves to 4-0 and remains on the road for a Tuesday match against San Bernardino Valley. The two face off at San Bernardino Tuesday at 4:00 pm.
