Cypress, Calif. – The Chargers were coming off a tough week suffering a loss and a tie coming into Tuesday’s game against Golden West. Cypress was looking to get back on the winning track against the Rustlers and did just that with a 3-0 shutout win. Freshman midfielder Casey Kiehl led Cypress with all three goals scored in the first half to lead Cypress to the win.

Cypress started their assault in the 22nd minute. Sophomore midfielder Diana Gallegos passed to Kiehl to break the scoreless tie. Just three minutes later, freshman defender Katelyn Rinehart served a ball up the middle that Kiehl dribbled to goal number two. The Chargers waited another twenty minutes, right before halftime before Kiehl scored again off a pass from freshman forward Juliane Adams. Neither team scored in the second half as Cypress held on to the three goal win. Freshman keeper Whitney Joslin made four saves on the day.

Cypress improves to 8-1-3 and 4-1-1 in conference remaining in third place. The Chargers have a couple days off before heading on the road to face Saddleback. The two meet up at Saddleback at 3:00 pm on Friday.
