Cypress Completes Sweep of OCC

Costa Mesa, Calif. – The Chargers traveled to Orange Coast Friday to begin the second round of OEC action. Cypress faced the Pirates again after just slipping by in the first round and made it simple with a 2-0 shutout win. Cypress can not afford to make any mistakes in the second round and took a big step today taking down the rising OCC program. Sophomore defender Samantha Bock led Cypress assisting on both goals.

The game looked like another tight matchup to start with a 0-0 halftime score. Cypress waited until the 62nd minute when freshman midfielder Amanda LoBello broke the tie with the first goal of the game. Just eight minutes later, freshman forward Juliane Adams added the second goal. Freshman keeper Whitney Joslin maintained the shutout with two saves.

Cypress improves to 10-1-4 and 6-1-2 in conference. The Chargers have the weekend off before going on to Tuesday action hosting Santa Ana. Cypress defeated the Dons 2-0 in the first round. The two meet up again Tuesday at 3:00 pm at Cypress.
