Second Half Enough for Charger Win

Cypress, Calif. – Cypress faced off with Santa Ana for the second time this season Tuesday hosting the Dons. The Chargers were left scoreless after a half but took advantage of opportunities in the second for the 3-0 shutout win. Freshman midfielder Amanda LoBello led Cypress with a goal and an assist.
The Chargers had control through the first half but were unable to put any balls in the goal. They kept their efforts up in the second and cashed in. Sophomore forward Catrina Flores broke the scoreless tie in the 48th minutes with an assist from freshman midfielder Casey Kiehl. Just seven minutes later, sophomore defender Samantha Bock put one in with an assist from LoBello. LoBello finished it off in the 83rd minute with a goal off a corner kick from Bock. Freshman keeper Whitney Joslin played most of the game making three saves. Freshman Ashley Llanes closed out the last eleven minutes.
Cypress improves to 11-1-4 and 7-1-2 in conference. The Chargers stay at home Friday to take on Irvine Valley. The Lasers lost to Cypress 6-0 the first time around. They meet again Friday at Cypress at 3:00 pm.
