Cypress Takes Decisive Win, Seizes Sole Possession of Second

Riverside, Calif. – Cypress has been mired in a second place tie with Riverside throughout most of the conference schedule. The two teams tied the last time around, but Cypress made it decisive this time with a 2-0 win to take sole possession of second place. Freshman midfielder Amanda LoBello led the charge with a goal and an assist.
LoBello assisted on sophomore forward Catrina Flores’s goal and scored a goal of her own. Freshman keeper Whitney Joslin picked up another shutout with one save.
Cypress improves to 14-1-4 and 10-1-2 in conference. They have a day off before heading back on the road to take on Golden West. Cypress defeated the Rustlers 3-0 the first time they faced each other. They will meet up again Friday at Golden West at 6:00 pm.
