Chargers Rout the Rustlers

Huntington Beach, Calif. – Cypress took on Golden West for the second time this season and shutout the Rustlers for the second time this season. The Chargers took down Golden West 4-0. Freshman midfielder Nicole Weil paced Cypress with two assists.

The Chargers had four different goal scorers Friday. Sophomore forward Catrina Flores joined freshmen Juliane Adams, Casey Kiehl, and Amanda LoBello with a goal each. LoBello also added an assist. Freshman keeper Whitney Joslin started in goal with three saves while freshman Starr Gonzales followed up to play the last fifteen minutes.

Cypress improves to 15-1-4 and 11-1-2 in second place in conference. The Chargers are currently ranked first in Southern California in power points. Cypress takes on Saddleback next. Cypress defeated Saddleback 4-0 the first time around. The two meet up again Tuesday at 3:00 pm at Cypress.
