Cypress, Calif. – The Chargers hosted their final conference home game of the season Tuesday taking on the Gauchos. Cypress made it business as usual with a 4-0 shutout of Saddleback. Freshman forward Juliane Adams led the charge with two goals.
Adams started the action with an unassisted goal in the third minute. Saddleback challenged Cypress through the rest of the first half and left Cypress up 1-0 after halftime. Sophomore forward Catrina Flores started the action in the second half with a goal assisted by freshman midfielder Olivia Green. Freshman midfielder Casey Kiehl added another goal assisted by midfielder Alexandria Roque. Adams then closed it out with the Chargers’ fourth goal.
Cypress improves to 16-1-4 and 12-1-2 in conference. They take on Santiago Canyon in their final regular season game of the year to determine the conference champion. The Chargers are one game behind the Hawks and a win could bump Cypress up to a tie for first. The rivals meet again Friday at 6:00 pm at Santiago Canyon Friday night.
