Cypress, Calif. – After suffering their first tie of the season on Friday, Cypress was looking to get back onto the winning track Tuesday in a home match against Santa Ana. The Dons denied the Chargers the win upsetting the first place Chargers 1-0. After a scoreless first half, Cypress’s defense allowed a Santa Ana goal to slip in spelling defeat. Freshman keeper Chelsea Broghamer allowed her first conference goal and just the second all season while making two saves.
Cypress (9-1-1, 4-1-1) falls to second place and must recover quickly as they take on rival Santiago Canyon next. The Chargers go on the road to take on the first place Hawks, defending co-champions of the OEC Friday at 3:00 pm in Orange.
